infinite time and space causes issues...

Hurrah Hurrah I'm home alone! Now that the parentals have gone away and left me all alone what do you think my first thought was? 'wild party and trash the house?' or 'eat as much junk food as humanly possible?' Nope, much more mundane than that I'm afraid...
I get a whole craft room to myself! whoop! All the space that I need to glue and stick and I don't even have to tidy up after myself. Heavenly heaven.
This blessing may also be seen as a curse as now the pressure is on, after all I can't have a lovely room to myself and then not do anything, that would be a waste. So after spending the morning contemplating what I was actually going to do with my infinite time and space I settled on some simple, not too taxing projects. The first thing to do was to complete some outstanding circle journals that I am part of over on
UK Stampers . One of the ones that I needed to do belongs to the Mother, so Mum if you are reading this, then look away now and stop sneaking!

Mum's colour theme was grey and the stamp that came with the journal was the outstandingly pointy boots! I like this journal because you only have to do a single page (not like most where you have to do a double page spread which can at times tax my small brain) and it's portrait for a change - fun times.

The second 'thing I made today' was actually made on Friday and is full of smelly goodness. I am totally in love with Yankee Candles and I had two (baby powder and beach walk) that hadn't quite burnt down properly but I refused to throw away their lovely smell so I thought re-melting them and making a new and unique fragrance was in order. To bulk it up I added some rose scented wax too!

I created a double boiler to melt the wax by filling a saucepan with water and placing a Pyrex bowl on top filled with the wax bits. This was quite scary but smelt lovely!
After all the wax had melted I place a new wick into the bottom of a gorgeous porcelain cup that I had been saving for such a purpose and poured the melted wax into the cup. Funnily enough the bizarre mixture of waxes had created a tea colour - if I had wanted that to be the case I probably couldn't have managed it.
I had to be patient and not try to poke the setting wax with a stick (this was a great temptation but I did resist!) In the morning a miracle had happened...

The most beautifully perfect candle in the world! I haven't lit it yet so have no idea what the baby powered/beach walk/rose scent will smell like but frankly I don't care because it looks so scrumptious!
Keep tuned in for more eye dazzling delights whilst I revel in my creative space over the next week or so.
ciao bella!
